Lizzy has worked in fundraising for overseas development charities, including the British Red Cross, Health Unlimited and Save the Children, since 1999 and is currently Major Donor Manager for Hope and Homes for Children. She studied Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics, and Development Studies at Birkbeck College, London. She is particularly interested in culturally-sensitive approaches to development.
Lizzy visited Ngorongoro District for two weeks in 2000 and has met many of the people involved with the project in Tanzania. She has also travelled to other parts of East Africa, visiting Kenya, Zanzibar and Pemba, in addition to Tanzania, and has also visited Madagascar.
In her free time, Lizzy is a keen gardener and is featured each month, together with her allotment, in the BBC’s Gardeners’ World Magazine.
